HomeAbout UsOur PeopleÁine Brady

Dr Áine Brady is a materials and physical chemist with expertise in advanced materials and electrochemistry applied to biomedical research. She holds a BSc in Analytical Chemistry from Dublin City University and a PhD in Physical Chemistry and Materials Science.

During her doctoral research, Dr Brady investigated next-generation material platforms for the controlled and targeted delivery of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. She subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Prof Robert Forster, where her work centred on the development of ultra-sensitive, multi-analyte electrochemical technologies for the detection of clinically relevant biomarkers associated with epilepsy.

As a NeuroAdapt Fellow, Dr Brady is advancing innovative strategies for the early detection and targeted treatment of neurological conditions. Her current research explores fundamental molecular features of neurologically relevant proteins to uncover new diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities. This work is conducted under the supervision of Prof Robert Forster and Prof Yann Pellegrin.
