NeuroAdapt

NeuroAdapt is a pioneering €2 million research training initiative integrated within the Research Ireland FutureNeuro network, dedicated to tackling the multifaceted and evolving challenges of brain disease research and treatment. Co-funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and the FutureNeuro Centre, we will support 11 postdoctoral researchers, equipping them with the tools and expertise to drive significant advancements in neuroscience and improve patient outcomes. The first call for applications will open in Spring 2025.

Meet our Team

Dr Tobias Engel, our Academic Lead for NeuroAdapt, has a wealth of experience in coordinating European training networks that connect academia, industry, and clinical practice. With the support of a dedicated Programme Manager, Simone Brennan, Dr Engel has brought together an internationally acclaimed team of over 30 academic supervisors, each with their own specialised expertise in neuroscience.

Research Areas

Our fellows will receive comprehensive, multidisciplinary training in cutting-edge areas such as gene therapy, high-resolution imaging, precision medicine, biomolecule and gene delivery, and digital health. This is complemented by training in transferable skills and hands-on experience through placements with our inter-sectoral partners across industry, clinical settings, and patient organisations. We aim to enable a new generation of research leaders equipped with the expertise to bridge the gap from bench to bedside. By focusing on personalized treatments, our fellows will be poised to transform brain disease management and address the unique needs of patients with neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions.
