Tobias Engel

TOBIAS ENGEL is an Associate Professor at RCSI. His lab is focuses on the identification of new diagnostics and therapeutics for epilepsy based on purinergic signaling. His team was the first to show that targeting the P2X7 receptor reduces seizure in animal models. Within FutureNeuro, he leads projects with industry partners (Kahn and Janssen), investigating the role of purinergic signaling in epilepsy and TBI. He is also the Coordinator of NeuroAdapt.
